We visited Dubai in April for Peter's birthday, and I wanted to do something special for him that was exciting. We were so in love with Dubai's skyscraper and gorgeous architecture of the city of gold, so I looked into surprising him with a fun activity, and I'm glad we did this. Seawings Dubai Tours offers breathtaking flights on a seaplane, showcasing the most famous landmarks of Dubai and fantastic city views.
What you are getting yourself into
You will experience water take-off and landing, which is pretty-pretty-pretty cool! The luxury seaplane has nine comfortable seats, and only one lucky bird gets to sit next to the pilot and have a unique experience. The birthday boy got to do that, of course and he had a blast! The pilot was super fun and gave us tons of information about the city. Seawings offers flight tours of 20min (AED 940/Adult), their signature tour of 45min (AED 1,780/Adult), and also private tours (AED 12,075 / Charter). I highly recommend the 45min flight since it goes by so fast, and you want to make sure you take awesome photos but also enjoy the moment. Regardless of what tour you choose, all passengers must bring their passports to be able to fly.
Experience breathtaking views of:
BURJ AL ARAB
Supposedly the only 7-star hotel in the world, Burj Al Arab is famous for its sail-shape and extravagant suites that can go up to USD 24,000.00 per night. It stands on an artificial island connected to the mainland through a private bridge. The hotel has 56 floors and 18 elevators.
PALM JUMEIRAH
The palm tree-shaped land is an iconic symbol of Dubai, and it's also the world's largest artificial archipelago. It cost around USD 12 billion to develop its grounds, not to mention the luxury hotels and residences. It's fascinating how they pulled this off in only 5-6 years, using only rocks & sand. The land covers 560 hectares, which means you could fit over 600 soccer fields in the same area.
THE WORLD ISLANDS
Another incredible man-made archipelago made of 300 small islands, representing all the countries in the world and landmarks. 60% of the islands had been sold off to private contractors back in 2008, and only one (Lebanon) has been fully developed so far. The idea is to build luxury resorts, restaurants, floating suites, all made with each country's special touch.
BURJ KHALIFA
The big star of Dubai, Burj Khalifa is the tallest free-standing building in the world. To put it into perspective, Burj Khalifa is twice the height of New York's Empire State Building and three times as tall as the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The needle-shaped tower situated in Downtown offers incredible views of the city.

I hope you get to add this experience to your list when visiting Dubai, and don't forget to pin it for later!

I’ve always wanted to visit Dubai, but didn’t feel there were enough adventurous things to do. Thanks for proving me wrong!

You’re so welcome, Retha! I hear a lot of mixed feelings about Dubai, we happened to have a blast. To be honest, a week wasn’t enough to do it all. If you like adventurous things, this tour, the self-drive jeep desert tour and self-drive boat tour are the best. I will be linking those on the site soon! Xo!

It’s so cool to see the world islands from above! I can’t believe that only one is fully developed after all this time… maybe if I wait long enough, one day I’ll be able to afford one!

Isn’t it amazing? I was wondering the same since they put so much work into the Palm and got it done so fast. I guess the crisis of 2009 affected them on a bigger scale. But I heard they started constructions again this year, now they have floating/underwater rooms, and a couple of the islands already prepared for day trips.
