We've always wanted to visit Puerto Rico, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Fairmont El San Juan is located on the gorgeous, award-winning beach Isla Verde. The Resort features four pools, luxury cabanas, and beautiful villa rooms surrounded by lush green gardens—one of the most desirable retreats in San Juan.
We had the pleasure to celebrate the night of San Juan at Fairmont's El San Juan Beachclub, with delicious dinner + cocktails, DJs, and lots of live entertainment. It was such a fantastic night; it's an eve of a feast for Saint John, the Baptist's birth. It occurs two days before the summer solstice. The tradition is that at midnight, people take three backward plunges – some do seven or 12 dives in the ocean to get rid of all negativity.
We were amazed by the hospitality; everyone was super kind and warm. The food was fantastic as well. The Resort has over five restaurants and bars. One of our favorites is Caña by Juliana Gonzalez, everything was delicious, and the cocktails were outstanding!
Peter enjoyed the gym facility a lot; it was spotless and very well-equipped. They also offer yoga and meditation classes (must make an appointment 24 hours before).
Later this year, Fairmont El San Juan will open its brand new 15,000-square-foot casino, featuring well-appointed table games and slot machines with a first-class service, complementing the resort’s well-appointed luxury accommodations and vibrant amenities. I have flown into San Juan’s airport on my way to other Caribbean islands, but I have never stayed in or experienced Puerto Rico. It looks like I am missing out!
