The definition of paradise was updated successfully. This place has indeed left me speechless. We were so looking forward to go to Boracay, specially because every Filipino person we know said this was the most beautiful island. I had seen so many pictures online that of course didn't do justice. The excitment kept building up and oh, I was not disappointed. The water is something unreal, the beaches are stunning, so of course a Shangri-La Resort was much needed to complete the paradise checklist.
By now you must be thinking I'm Shangri-La's girl, ambassador or stalker, but the truth is, I do love their hospitality and how they treat people. Take a look at this amazing resort and virtually travel back with me!
Leisure Time
Feel like doing nothing other than enjoy the pool or the beach? The resort has one of the country's largest naturalistic swimming pools. It's honestly so beautiful, both pools surrounded by lush green beauty. There is one private beach and one shared beach (both deserted when we went).
If you love relaxation, you can't miss CHI, The Spa - not only is one of the most beautiful parts of the resort but the treatments are amazing. You can check out the grounds and our full experience here.
You can also enjoy the health club (gym, jacuzzi, steam baths), tennis court, entertainment center, adventure zone, and so much more. If you're into water activities, they have so many sports available, from kayak to deep water diving, check it out here.
Accommodations
I'm honestly so impressed with the room/suite/villa options; I need to stay here for at least 2 months to enjoy all of it. Hear that, Universe? Ha! I thought I was going to be able to pick a favorite room, but I just can't. The accommodations are all so beautiful, tasteful designs everywhere you look, and also so VERY comfortable.
Premier Seaview Room
Close enough to sleep to the sound of the waves. I loved the marble-floored bathroom with two sinks and a tub — and the private veranda with a daybed. The view is stunning, and the sunset was so magical! Very convenient & comfortable room.
TreeHouse VillA
This beautiful one-bedroom villa has jaw-dropping views of the ocean and will not disappoint. If you are looking for privacy, romance & comfort, this is the perfect set up — beautiful outdoor deck with jacuzzi, spacious living room, and a sunlit bathroom with two sinks and a tub.
Loft Villa
Speaking of privacy: surrounded by tropical lushness, this two-story villa has a beautiful living room that opens up to your private infinity pool.
Two-Bedroom Beach Villa
Want your own beach cove? Yes, please. This villa is the only one to have direct access to the beach.
Presidential Villa
The most luxurious accommodation in the resort and it's stunning. The villa is gigantic but somehow still manages to have a home feel to it. Beatiful outdoor space, pool and perfect views. The entertainment space is impressive, and the bathrooms are classy & spacious.
Dining
Vintana Asian Café
We had breakfast at the Vintana and were delighted with the wide variety. Sitting outside is a plus, you do want to enjoy the ocean views.
Cielo Poolside Restaurant & Bar
Outdoor dining by the main pool & beach bar - drinks were excellent, and so was the food! The handmade pizza was delicious.
Rima (Mediterranean)
Take me back here, pretty please! You must experience this fantastic 4-course degustation dinner (a la cart option available), the signature dishes and drinks are delicious. Highlight of the menu:
- Avocado-cucumber crab cannelloni
- Pumpkin tortellini
- Baked Snapper & Australian Lamb Rack (Peter's choice)
- Butternut Tarte Tatin with mascarpone ice cream (Omg, yes!)
Sirena Seafood Restaurant & Clifftop bar
Lead by chef Shanmuga Raja Ravi, Sirena is the resort's award-winning signature seafood restaurant. The food is spectacular, and the views are breathtaking!
How can I not drool over this place? It's so beautiful every direction you look. I'm in love with the private dinners and wedding set up. Can you imagine getting married on this gorgeous beach?! How dreamy!
We had a blast staying at the Shangri-La's Boracay Resort & Spa and can't wait to be back for a 6-month vacation, ha! I wouldn't be sad to move in either. I’ve always wanted to stay at a Shangri-la. It seems like such a luxurious hotel chain and the Philippines is totally on my travel wishlist. Maybe I can combine the two. Love the fancy photos, too!
Thank You, Anne Marie! I love Shangri-La hotels, it’s luxurious but also affordable so it doesn’t feel so unrealistic. The service and care are very consistent, they sure know what they are doing! Whenever you make the jump to visit the Philippines, I highly recommend going to Boracay, it’s a must-see destination and (unbiased here) this Shangri-La is the most amazing resort on the island.

As I sit here in NY wit 20 degree temperatures I wish I was beachside at the Shangri-La Boracay Resort & Spa. Those rooms and views are to die for. The color of the water looks like a picture from a postcard. I didn’t think you could top the last resort you posted about but this might do it. That loft villa with the infinity pool is crazy! The rates are reasonable here as well all things considered and comparing to the US. The Philippines is like a hidden gem.
